NOTD - FOA I'll take you to the Candy Shop & Heart of Glass
Before we begin I would just like to let you know that this NOTD cost me $1.50 for both polishes!
FOA have some brilliant polishes, and with the recent launch of the Glitterati polishes I was able to pick some up for a measly 75c! At the time I also purchased a couple of polishes from their pastels range for the same price and noticed that I'll take you to the Candy shop and Heart of glass would be the most perfect match.
I was right, it is the best pairing ever and the combination of the two fix the faults that I consider to be in each polish. By that I mean that I don't like the pearly finish of I'll take you to the Candy shop which is covered up by Heart of glass and I don't like how sheer the glitter polish is, which becomes insignificant when layered over the pastel.
The glitter polish most definitely needs a top coat as the square glitters especially tend to curl at the edges (though only very slightly), enough to catch on things when no final coat is applied. I used two coats of the glitter polish and I like the way that it did cover the first later a little due to the fact that the base wasn't completely clear, but you were still able to see all of the glitters. I would like more heart shaped glitters to be included because I think I was only able to get one onto all ten of my nails!
I was reminded of why I generally don't gravitate towards glitter polishes - they are absolutely awful to remove. I can't stand removing glitter polishes!
Have you tried any of the Glitterati polishes? Which one is your favourite?

ReplyDeleteLove the notd!
Nawww, that's what it was like with me and Studio 54. I will get it eventually, even if I have to pay full price. Thank you Sheri!

They look so pretty together! I put Heart of Glass over Castle on a Cloud from the pastel range and it looked pretty nice. I wish heart of glass had more heart shaped glitter though!
ReplyDeleteI think so :) Ahhh there are so many beautiful combinations that you could do. It definitely needs more heart glitters.

I really want Heart of Glass but can't find it anywhere! :'(
ReplyDeleteYour manicure makes me want it even more, wah!
Great combo though :) x
Really? All the places I go to have all the milky glitters in stock but none of the ones I desperately want. It's so frustrating, but eventually I will get there! Hopefully you can find it stashed away somewhere!

This is a beautiful combination, I think I'm going to pick up "I'll Take You To the Candy Shop"! It's such a pretty colour! Sidenote: where did you get your heart ring?! I love love love it!

Why thank you! "I'll take you to the Candy Shop" is just beautiful, and even when it isn't on sale it's not too expensive. As for my ring, it was $5 from Equip, though I bought it a couple of months ago.
