Behind the Blog - YouReview

What? How could it be? Yes, for this Friday's Behind the Blog I am going to share a little about myself! Compared to many other bloggers I don't really share that much about myself so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do so while I am away and unable to organise one with another blogger.

I have really enjoyed getting the opportunity to interview other bloggers for this series, and as far as I am aware, many of you have enjoyed being able to find more out about some of the people behind the blogs you read regularly, as well as discovering new bloggers to follow. Hopefully you enjoy finding out a little more about me!

What is the significance of your blog name?
To be really honest with you, I don't know what possessed me to call my blog YouReview, especially because I never really even liked it from the beginning! I think I was just so excited to start up my blog that I rushed through the trickiest (and most important part) in an effort to start posting what I thought were wonderful posts but looking back were absolutely shocking! Oh how far I have come! Many times I have considered renaming my blog but now that it is quite established and has been linked on other blogs etc, I don't think it would be worth it.

Is beauty your only obsession?
Not at all, in fact it is almost a very secret obsession because few people realise I am so into makeup and beauty related things! I love science, though I don't think I know enough and dedicate enough time to it to call it an obsession, rather more of a strong interest...books! That's my other obsession, I love books.

What makes your blog different from others?
I think something that distinguishes this blog from others is my photographs - at least the fact that I take them outside among the greenery isn't something I have seen on too many other blogs. I was always very jealous of those who had fancy lighting set ups and incredible cameras (my camera cost $70 and is pretty rubbish!) who took stunning photos on white backgrounds. I could never achieve that so I decided to do a style of my own...photos outside. It's now become my 'thing' and I feel like I get better and better at it!

What is your dream career?
Early last year I did work experience for a week with 5 Speech Pathologists and since then I have completely latched on to the idea of becoming one. I have completed 3 work exp. placements with Speech Pathologists and am entirely sure that is what I want to do so I am really excited about eventually going to university to study that! For anyone who is at high school and thinking about work experience, I cannot recommend it enough!

Funnily enough, I really couldn't imagine working in the beauty industry because I am just so interested in health science/biological sciences. Beauty blogging is such an awesome hobby but something I don't consider as being a good career for me!

If you could feature on any TV show what would you pick?
The only TV shows that I watch are Big Bang Theory and an ABC series that isn't on at the moment called 'Call the Midwife.' I would totally feature on Big Bang Theory if I could!

What are your favourite books and movies?
As I mentioned, books are just about one of my favourite things in the world so it is ridiculously difficult to choose a favourite, but To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli and Looking for Alaska by John Green are probably in my top 10 however there are so many more I could ramble on about.
As for movies, I really don't get into them as much and cannot think of any that I absolutely love, though surely there must be a couple...

Though it was so strange being on this side of the Behind the Blog post, I really enjoyed it and hopefully you got to know me and my blog a little better!

Behind the Blog - Reverie Belle

It's Friday, and of course time for another Behind the Blog. At this point in time there is a fair chance I am out building a brick house in rural Cambodia - crazy right?

But, never fear, I was super organised and managed to prepare a post with the lovely Karen from Reverie Belle Beauty Blog.

Karen's blog has the most beautiful, clear pictures that basically make me want every single product she posts about (whether she gives it a positive review or not!). I love her honest, detailed reviews - they are so helpful and enjoyable to read.

I asked Karen about her dream job, $250 winnings and being happy.

Why did you start blogging?
A friend of mine linked me her blog and after trawling through all her posts, I was inspired to start my own! I loved the thought of putting my own opinions in a blog post with people reading them too.

What is your dream career/job?
A dream job would be doing something where I can travel the world, have free food, be pampered and trial beauty and skincare products! Haha I wish. At the moment I am studying pharmacy which leads me to become a pharmacist.  I would love to work in a hospital setting, however I’m really keen to own my own cafĂ© or something to do with hotel management! I am a person of many ambitions…

What is the best thing you have ever won?
The best thing I’ve ever won was a $250 Visa card! It was a nice surprise and I happily spent it all.

If you were to start your blog again, what would you do differently?
I would probably take more time to take better photos- I think the quality of photos in blogs are really the deal breaker for me! When I first started my blog, I really didn’t take much attention to how well my photos looked and if I could start it again, I would make sure they look amazing!

What are some things that never fail to make you happy?
Being with friends, enjoying good food (I love to eat!) and snuggling in bed with a cup of tea and a magazine to read.

Do you have any secret hobbies?
Secret hobbies… I like to collect labels and tags from nice clothes and accessories  I have bought, I don’t know why! They are just too pretty to throw away :P

Thank you Karen - I personally think your blog photos are brilliant!

Behind the Blog - Her Beauty Days

At this point in time I will have just arrived in Cambodia and hopefully will have spent the day wandering around the temples of Angkor Wat! Luckily I prepared a Behind the Blog post for today a little bit in advance!

For today's Behind the Blog post is Melissa from Her Beauty Days. Melissa is a Sydney blogger who has just started her blog so make sure to make an extra special effort to check out her blog!

So far her blog consists of haul posts, reviews, beauty subscription box reviews and swatches.

I spoke to Melissa about her signature makeup look, if she could design a perfume and what makes her happy.

Why did you start blogging?
I’ve been admiring various blogs from afar for a short while before I finally caved in and started my own blog. Blogging is a means of communicating with others with similar interests and to share my “journey”, delving into the depths of the “beauty world”. I love sharing my opinions and experiences – in hope that they will be beneficial for others and be of assistance for girls with the similar “beauty profiles”. I’m still in the process of experimenting with different products – finding what works for me and what goes with what. It’s great to document these things down to share!
Blogging is fun and is also a great therapeutic leisure activity for me!

What is your signature makeup look?
Currently, I’m aiming towards a fresh and healthy look. I use BB creams instead of foundations; I’m working with fuller brows with flushed cheeks and reddish-pink lips.
I love experimenting with makeup looks so my signature makeup look can change from time to time!

Where is your favourite place in the world?
I haven’t travelled the world extensively to answer this. There are so many beautiful places in the world that can easily be my favourite! I love a lot of places – ranging from the busy streets filled with the hustle and bustle of everyday life to the secretive serene tropical paradise escapes!

If you had your own perfume, what would it be called?
“Happily Ever After”. I would love to be associated with a beautiful perfume that can empower women to be happy, sexy and have their own “happily ever after” ending. You can be whoever you want to be and just celebrate your individuality! A perfume that can do that will be so amazing!

Do you speak any other language? If you could, what language would you love to speak?
Vietnamese is my mother tongue.
I learnt German in one semester at University; although I love it, the grammar is much more complicated than English. I hope to speak German at a proficient level one day!

What are some things that never fail to make you happy?
Proud parents, family dinners, achieving what was expected to be unachievable and the company of family and friends.

Thank you Melissa, and welcome to the blogging world! Please check Melissa's blog out here.

Behind the Blog - The Shopping Queen

If I have done my maths correctly, this is the 11th Behind the Blog post - that means I have featured 11 different bloggers as part of this series! How cool is that?

For number 11 I spoke a little to Jen from over at The Shopping Queen.  Jen is an Aussie blogger from Sydney whose posts consist of an array of exciting hauls, reviews, swaps and tags. I am so very jealous of some of the incredible products she has in her collection!

This week Jen spoke a little about why she is The Shopping Queen, doing makeup on the train and McDonald's!

What is the significance of your blog name?
I have a knack for finding things that are "sold out" and I'm quite persistent if I'm trying to hunt something down. For example, my boyfriend really wanted a pair of shoes that were only available in the US and they had sold out of his size on the official website so I hunted down all the resellers online (quite hard when you're not familiar with the authorised resellers in another country!) and found the very last pair available in his size :) He calls me 'the shopping queen' so that's where I got the inspiration for the name of my blog. If you read my blog, you'll see a trend of haul posts so I'm also a bit of a shopaholic.

What is your signature makeup look?
I'm quite low maintenance and I prefer the "no makeup, makeup look". I always do my makeup on the train on the way to work so I normally have concealer and mascara on and I'll always do my eyebrows as well.

If you were a makeup item what would you be?
A lipstick. I hoard lip products and I think that having a lipstick on can really change your look by a lot! People say that they can't live without mascara as it wakes up their eyes but I've found that I need some colour on my lips or I look tired. Mascara does nothing for me!

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
Bora Bora! It's my dream to go there and I would actually splurge and get a hut thingy at the Four Seasons so that I could jump into the water anytime that I wanted to. I'm normally not a fan of spending a lot of money on hotel rooms but Bora Bora is my dream destination. I'll definitely be going there for my honeymoon!

Do you speak any other language? If you could, what language would you love to speak?
I speak the Shanghai dialect called Shanghainese. Most people laugh when I say Shanghainese as it sounds made up but if you google it, you'll realise that it's an actual name for the Shanghai dialect. I wish I could speak French and it's always been a big regret of mine that I dropped it in high school.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
McDonalds egg and cheese McMuffins. I'm addicted to McDonalds fries but I think that I would actually get sick of them if I had to eat them forever but I love McDonalds egg and cheese McMuffins and wish they were available all day long!

Thank you Jen!

Behind the Blog - Talisbury

Thank goodness it is Friday! As always, it is time for a Behind the Blog post and this week I spoke to Rebecca from Talisbury. Rebecca's blog is one that I haven't been following for too long, however long enough to appreciate how awesome it is!

Apart from having the coolest picture ever (look at that picture of her!) Rebecca's blog consists of fashion, food and of course lots of beauty based posts, all with impeccable photography.

This week Rebecca spoke a little about her blog name (which, by the way, I was very curious about!) and author John Green.

What is the significance of your blog name?
‘Talis’ comes from the word talisman which is a charm that brings good luck and protects from evil and harm, which is a nice thought. And ‘bury’ is like Burberry, but I didn’t like Talisberry, so I named it Talisbury instead!

Who do you think always gets it right when it comes to beauty?
Lauren Conrad, is it normal for a human being to be that perfect?!

What is one piece of advice you could give to a new blogger?
I still consider myself a new blogger, so I guess my advice wouldn’t be of great value, but it would be ‘Embrace the difference.’ Don’t post things and products just because other bloggers feature it. The great thing about there being a lot bloggers out there is that it’s diverse and different. I quickly get bored of blogs that simply take common phrases that have been said a million times before by products that have been reviewed a million times before.

Which store do you spend the most time in?
I don’t really shop physically all too much, I do my shopping online. But my favourite store is Asos!

Do you have any nerdy characteristics?
Not at all, I wish I did though. I wish I could get nerdy about something! I tried to force myself to get into computers at one stage, but that was a complete fail as I have the attention span of a.. well, I don’t have one at all, really.

What are your favourite books and movies?
Anything written by John Green is my ultimate favourite, but I have many favourites, reading is one of my things to do. I don’t have favourite movies, but anything funny gets a thumbs up from me!

Thank you so much Rebecca! If you don't follow her blog please do, just click here!

Behind the Blog - Shiwashiful

You guessed it - it's Friday and therefore it's time for Behind the Blog.

This week I got the chance to find out a little more about Tashi from over at Shiwashiful. Tashi has the most wonderful looking blog (it is so vibrant and joyous!) containing an assortment of reviews, NOTDs, hauls and TAGs. All of Tashi's photos are absolutely flawless and it is a joy just to drool over them let alone reading her posts too!

Tashi spoke her blog name (which I was very curious about!), her year 12 subjects and life as a Grammar Nazi.

Why did you start blogging?
Before I was obsessed with makeup, I was obsessed with nail polish! From reading nail blogs and then watching nail polish related videos it lead me to the beauty community. I spent so much time watching and reading Youtube and blogs that I became very obsessed, very quickly! I enjoy writing and photography and thought, hey – I could start a blog! I am so glad that I did and although I don’t have the most extensive collection or knowledge, I enjoy writing about it and I am very proud of my blog!

What is the significance of your blog name?
There is quite a long-winded story behind my almost unpronounceable blog name, haha, so I will try to keep it brief! My sort-of nickname is tashi-washi and one of my friends started calling me shiwashi. When I was making an account on Youtube, shiwashi was taken and shiwashiful was suggested so that’s where the name came from!

Is beauty your only obsession?
I am hopelessly obsessed with TV and watching TV shows, and I watch way too many to be healthy. Youtube, blogs and TV is where my spare time goes to die (I’m the worst procrastinator too).

If you are at school, what subjects are you studying/planning to study in year 12?
I am currently in grade 11 and have chosen quite the array of subjects. I’m studying English, Maths B, Chemistry, Accounting, ITS (Information Technology Systems) and Chinese. I have absolutely no idea of what I want to do in the future, so I definitely kept my options open!

If you could feature on any TV show, which would you pick?
I don’t have any particular favourite TV shows as I watch and love so many! While I do love my Dramas, if I had to choose, I’d go with a comedy like How I Met Your Mother, The Mindy Project, The Big Bang Theory or 2 Broke Girls because I think it would be very fun!

Do you have any nerdy characteristics?
I am a total nerd! I am such a Grammar Nazi and am constantly correcting others, I actually get annoyed when people say things incorrectly! I also LOVE The Lord of the Rings trilogy, sometimes I spontaneously quote it and some of my friends look at me weirdly haha. That, and I’m totally un-sporty!

Thank you Tashi for being featured, it was lovely to get to know more about you.

Behind the Blog - Beauty for Thought

It's Friday (thank the lord) and that means...Behind the Blog!

This week I spoke to Ashleigh from Beauty for Thought, a blog that I have only recently discovered. Beauty for Thought is a collection of incredible makeup looks, hauls, reviews and swatches from a fellow Aussie blogger.

I think perhaps my favourite of her posts are her creative eyeshadow looks (most of which I would never be able to pull off but I love admiring her handiwork!)

This week Ashleigh spoke a little about food for thought, Leighton Meester and her high school days.

What is the significance of your blog name?
I came across the saying "Food for Thought" while I was thinking of a name, which means anything that provides mental stimulation and I wanted to apply that to makeup & beauty for the everyday girl who want to learn more about these things that most people think of as superficial on a more deeper level.

What is your signature makeup look?
I always try to do something different but without fail it usually always involves a winged eye & glowy skin.

Who (a celebrity) do you think always gets it right when it comes to beauty?
I always love Leighton Meester's effortless & subtly sexy makeup & also Amber Heards' sultry look. It helps that they are both stunning!

What is your dream career/job?
I'm studying Beauty Therapy at the moment but I'd love to eventually focus as a MUA one day. A beauty editor would be awesome for all the free products to try out, and the invitations to beauty events.

What is the best thing you have ever won?
When I was younger I won an awesome drawing book that I didn't even know I was in the draw to win at school. I've also won a couple of giveaways which is awesome!

What were you like at high school?
I was fairly quiet and I had a small group of friends that would change throughout the years. I was into Art & Japanese &  was good at English but sucked at Maths haha. I suppose you could say I was a quiet achiever and made it through without ever really standing out.

Thanks for being featured Ashleigh - I hope some of you were able to get to know a bit more about her or discover a new Australian blogger!

Behind the Blog - Mishelle's Sleepy Time

For this week's Behind the Blog we are hearing from the lovely Mishelle over at Mishelle's Sleepy Time. I think everyone knows Mishelle, but I found her answers to my questions absolutely fascinating and I learnt a little more about her, so hopefully you can too!

Mishelle's blog, aside from having the greatest banner/header, contains makeup looks, hauls, empties, project pans, reviews and favourites. She also has some of the loveliest NOTDs.

Mishelle told me all about how she came up with her blog name, her favourite books and movies and large scale construction projects!

What is the significance of your blog name?
I fall asleep very easily and in almost any situation. If I am tired and sitting still, I will find a way to nap, whether it be in the car, in the movie theatre or at uni on my desk. My boyfriend would sometimes come home from work to find me asleep on the couch, upon which he would wake me up and ask me if it was "Mishelle's Sleepy Time".

What has been the most surprising thing about blogging?
I found it really bizarre the first time someone told me they actually followed my recommendations and picked up some products I had reviewed. I have had readers say to me they have both loved and hated my recommendations, which always surprises me and keeps me on my toes. I try to make my reviews as accurate as possible, so that my readers know what they're really in for with a product. If people wanted to be lied to they would just watch mascara advertisements all day.

What do you have the most of in your makeup collection?
Shame and regret. No actually it's probably eye shadow. I love eye shadow.

What is your dream career?
I am at university to be a construction manager. So my dream job is to co-ordinate large scale construction projects, like hospitals, stadiums or skyscapers. Although I wouldn't go past being a dolphin trainer if I was ever offered the position.

Do you have any secret hobbies?
Does watching terrible reality television whilst cleaning my house count?

What are your favourite books and movies?
I am currently reading George Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire Series and they are phenomenal. Other than fantasy, I do enjoy a good dystopian novel, such as Brave New World or Nineteen Eighty Four. In terms of films, some of my recent favourites have been The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Django Unchained.

Thank you so much Mishelle, it was awesome getting to know a little bit more about you!

Behind the Blog - It's Charr

Behind the Blog is back after a slight mishap last week, featuring Char from It's Charr. I have been reading her blog since I first started blogging!

Char's blog is a collection of beauty, fashion and fitness posts with the occasional tag thrown in the mix. Char's posts about health and fitness often remind me of what I should be doing - she is so motivated!

I talked to Char about her experience with blogging and makeup addiction!

Why did you start blogging?
I started to write about how my parents were going through the adoption process however that didn't work out so I branched out into beauty and fashion and recently added fitness to my addictions!

Why do you enjoy blogging?
I've never really had a 'hobby' so to find blogging so fun and enjoyable has given me a little place of my own to share my likes and feelings.

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
I really want to go to Bora Bora and stay in on of those huts in the see, it looks so beautiful

What is one beauty related thing you just cannot master?
Eyeliner. I suck at trying to get the perfect straight line! I've given up and never wear it these days!

What do you have the most of in your makeup collection?
My lip product drawer is fit to bursting with gloss, lipstick, lip butters, you name it its in that drawer!

Which type of makeup product do you tend to find yourself collecting the most?
Despite my bursting lip drawer I have a tonne of nail varnish, I have a weakness for pretty colours!

Thanks for being featured this week Char!

Behind the Blog - Sweetaholic Beauty

Can you believe we are already up to the fifth installment of the Behind the Blog series here on YouReview? It's crazy!

Post number five this week belongs to the beautiful Jasmine from Sweetaholic Beauty. I am sure many of you will know her, she is a very influential beauty blogger and is very involved in the beauty community. If you don't know her please check out her blog!

Jasmine has haul posts, subscription box reviews but most of all incredible product reviews from the most amazing range of brands (half of them I only discover from her!).

This week Jasmine spoke about Doctor Who, Japan and winged eyeliner!

Why do you enjoy blogging?
I think my absolutely favourite thing about blogging is interacting! I love reading people's comments, knowing that they've read my content! I love chatting to fellow bloggers via the comments, or on twitter, or even on Facebook! It's been great making friends, meeting up with other bloggers even! In "real life" I don't have a lot of friends who are interested in makeup so it feels so nice to have a group of girls online that I can gush over the latest products with, without feeling judged or ignored!

What is one piece of advice you could give to a new blogger?
Just one? Don't be afraid to talk to established bloggers! When I first started out, I was a bit scared to talk to established bloggers, as I thought they might be rude, or ignore me altogether. I was pleasantly surprised to find that most bloggers were lovely and easy to talk to, and really helpful if I had any noob questions! I've also made a lot of great friends! Any blogger that is rude or ignores you, just because you aren't established, isn't worth your time. This also really helps to get your name out there and help traffic to your blog.

What is your signature makeup look?
I'm really boring with my every day makeup, but my signature look is definitely winged eyeliner! I don't go a day without wearing gel or liquid eyeliner and creating the winged look! I have really small eyes (or at least that's how they feel) so I feel like the look really makes my eyes pop, and stops them from looking so small! So I usually go for neutral eye colour with winged eyeliner, and a coral or orange lip!

What do you have the most of in your makeup collection?
I definitely have far too many palettes. When I first began my love affair with makeup, I fell in love with the idea of a palette, so I had to buy them all! I preferred eye shadow palettes as they had so many different colours, so now I have about three drawers filled with palettes! It's a little bit crazy!

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
The place I always wanted to visit growing up was Japan, which I was lucky enough to visit in my high school years. I really want to go back without school, but I think being a beauty blogger, a place I really want to travel to now is the US. Not only do they have some amazing landmarks (not to mention all the "landmarks" we grew up with on TV - like Carrie Bradshaw's apartment door!) as well as some crazy food. But we all know the real reason I'd like to travel there - discount makeup!

Do you have any nerdy characteristics?
I am a giant nerd! Aside from loving all things beauty, I love all things nerdy! My boyfriend and I read comics, watch Doctor Who and collect Lord of the Rings memorabilia  I can't imagine how boring life would have been in high school as one of the "cool" kids as they didn't seem to have any interests at all in comparison to all the nerdy things I obsessed over! Nerd for life!

Thank you so much Jasmine! Just a quick side note, how great is that last picture of the Glitterati polishes?

Behind the Blog - Born to Buy

Today's Behind the Blog features Sophie from over at Born to Buy.

Sophie's blog is an assortment of hauls, reviews, collections, swatches, empties and project pans!

I asked Sophie a little bit about everything and she spoke of Delta Goodrem, Nikki Webster and being the girl who talked a lot!

Why do you enjoy blogging?
I love blogging for a couple of reasons. Whenever I'm not having the best of days I can just sit down to write a review or respond to some comments and go into my own little world. I've also made some great friends along the way which is amazing and something I never thought would happen. But really, I just love sharing my knowledge and experience of products with others! Another thing is I really like to write so, for me, it's a nice to have the opportunity to.

Which celebrity do you think always gets it right when it comes to beauty?
It's no secret that I am completely obsessed with Delta Goodrem. I love everything about her, including her goddess like hair and flawless make up. Swoon.

What is your dream career/job?
I studied Youth Work and Community Services so I'd love to work with young people. My dream job would be able to combine my love of all things beauty related with my desire to work with young people. I've got make up artist work a few different events hosted by youth centres and absolutely loved that so who knows!

What is the best thing you have ever won?
I don't win much so I can't really remember the best thing I won. When I was about 8 I won a signed copy of Nikki Webster's CD (I still have it somewhere) which I was super stoked about. The last thing I won was a LUSH pack from my local LUSH store.

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
New York. I'd love to go to New York, especially around the time of IMATS. I'd also love to go to New Zealand. My Mum's brother, Aunty and two cousins moved there about 5 years ago and I'd love to go visit!

What were you like at high school?
I was the girl that talked in class. A lot. Not loud, granted, but too much. I did my work though so it's all okay, right?

As always, thank you everyone for your support! Hopefully you got to know Sophie a little more. Thanks Sophie!

Behind the Blog - Behind the Frames

This week's Behind the Blog blogger is Sheri from Behind the Frames (yes, I may have accidentally ripped off her blog name for my blogging series!). I found Sheri on youtube and then discovered her blog, and what a good discovery it was!

On Behind the Frames you can find reviews, giveaways, empties posts, monthly favourites, hauls and TAGs - basically the perfect mix of everything.

I asked her a couple of questions and she spoke about blogging, knitting and the USA.

What is the significance of your blog name?
When most people look at me, they think that I’m a serious student and would never ever think that I’m interested (more like obsessed) with cosmetics and skincare. This also has to do with my image, as I wear glasses, so I decided to call my blog “Behind The Frames” because most people don’t know the other side of me!

Why do you enjoy blogging?
I aspire to become a journalist one day and blogging is a form of practice for me, to develop my writing skills and I also love expressing my ideas. I also love taking photos for my blog and the people I’ve met in the blogging community are just so lovely and supportive, making blogging an even more enjoyable experience for me.

Which type of makeup product do you tend to find yourself collecting the most?
Definitely lip products, especially lipsticks. There are just endless shades of pink and red and so many different colours that I feel like I just have to collect a rainbow of lip products!  But this leads to a problem of mine… which is that I end up buying a lip product which I already have a similar shade to!

Any special talents?
I love to knit! I started learning 2 years ago and I’ve knitted many scarves over the years, which I’ve gifted to my friends and relatives.  Sadly though, I haven’t learnt to knit anything else.

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
Definitely Korea or the USA. Why? To stock up on Asian cosmetics, buy out all the American drugstores and get some cute clothing items (for really affordable prices of course)!

What is one beauty related thing you just cannot master?
Contouring. I cannot, for my life, use bronzer and achieve that lovely sculpted face with prominent cheekbones and a sun-kissed glow. I just end up looking unnatural and like I got tanned in the wrong places. I think the main issue is that I have too much fat on my cheeks which makes it an impossible task to bring out my “cheekbones” haha.

Thank you Sheri for being part of YouReview's 'Behind the blog' series!

Behind the Blog - More than Adored

This week is the second week of Behind the Blog  here on YouReview. Thank you for all your support, I appreciate it, and I am sure the featured bloggers do too.

This week I asked Sarah from over at 'More than adored' a couple of questions about all kinds of things!

Her blog contains reviews, hauls, swatches, and  "Blogs I'm loving" posts, a selection of her blog favourites.

Here is what she had to say about teaching, blogging and Creme Cup!

Why did you start blogging?
I was a member on the site Beauty Heaven prior to starting my blog and I was obsessed with checking the ‘Just Blogged’ forum topic. I’ve always enjoyed writing and I thought ‘I could do this.’ I started my blog a very long time ago however I only started blogging seriously at the end of last year and have never looked back.

Why do you enjoy blogging?
I’ve always had a love for writing all through school I loved English and even considered doing a journalism course. The make up and beauty side of things was a growing love that I ended up just wanting to share my opinion and I’ve never looked back. I love being able to share everything beauty, just to show people what I have and love. Also just the community is amazing, I love talking to the other bloggers.

What is one piece of advice you could give to a new blogger?
If you’re thinking about starting a blog don’t do it because you think you’ll get sent free stuff. It’s not like that. YOU have to spend a lot of money on products and YOU have to be the one to review those products. It doesn’t get handed to you. It’s hard work and A LOT of work. I for one didn’t realise how much work there is behind the scenes.
So do it because you love to write and you feel passionate about whatever it is you’re going to blog about. It’s worth all the hard work and money if you love what you’re doing.

What is your go-to/HG lip product?
Oooo this is a tough one! It’s a draw between Mac Rebel or Mac Crème Cup. I think Mac do great quality lipsticks and these two shades I really love and reach for a lot.

What is the worst makeup crime someone could commit?
Still wearing yesterday’s eyeliner. I’m sorry but it’s such a trashy look. I cannot stand seeing girls who have just applied more over yesterdays smudges under their eyes.

What is your dream career/job?
Right now I’m studying teaching and I really can’t wait to be qualified. Dream job is a health teacher at a high school but also still running my blog.

Thanks a bunch Sarah for being featured on this 'Behind the Blog' post!
