My go-to summer hairstyle

In summer I think there is nothing worse than having long, sweaty hair getting in the way of everything and hanging limp around your face. I like my hair to be up and out of the way, but still look somewhat interesting too. I don't like spending much time on hairstyles which is why I keep turning to this style when I don't know what else to do.

Basically all I do is create a simple plait/braid (depending on how lazy I am feeling) from the front of my head, around the side then to the back. Where the braids meet I simply tie them together. Either I leave my hair down or take it one step further and twist my hair into a simple bun. I like it in a bun because the braids give it extra texture and make the look a lot more interesting, but my hair is kept back.

It takes me between three and five minutes and I think it looks quite nice. I do apologise about the horrible photos though - it is really difficult taking photos of your own hairstyle! I also have no ideas as to why my hair appears to be different colours in each of the photos.

  1. I hate my hair being in my face in summer too. I'm usually super lazy and just whack it into a high pony. I like the plaits put into a bun, might have to try that out for work soon.

    1. A high pony was always my default option but then I got bored and switched to this. It requires more effort but oh well... :)

  2. I liked the buns the most! I normally let me hair loose during summers because I feel if I do it up, my scalp gets all the more sweaty. ( I know that's weird ;P)
Can we do the braiding even in layered hair?

    1. Really? I find it gets all sweaty when I leave it down! I imagine you should be able to braid layered hair :)

    1. Glad you like it :) It's a bit fiddly to get used to if you're not used to braiding your own hair, but once you get the hang of it it's really easy.
