Top 3 Tuesday - Eyeliner
Top 3 Tuesday is here again, although only just in time! Like last week it was pretty easy for me to identify my top 3 eyeliners as whilst I do have a fair amount, these are the three that I use on a regular basis.
1. Face of Australia liquid liner - Black
I have mentioned this so often in the last week or two I expect you are so sick of hearing about it. This is my new favourite, and considering that I always hated liquid liner because I was so useless at applying it, this must be a pretty good product for me to like it so much. I find this the quickest and most impressive looking eyeliner for me to apply out of all my eyeliners.
2. Maybelline Eyestudio Gel liner - Brown
This eyeliner is a favourite of many and for good reason! When I first got it I wasn't overly pleased (as outlined in the review) but I have found it has changed over time. This may or may not have a lot to do with the fact that my skill in applying it increased too! It comes with a brush (which is surprisingly quite decent!) and is just a good gel liner. I like that mine is in brown, I find it really quite wearable, especially for the day time. It isn't terribly expensive, although you don't really get all that much product. I think it is a worthwhile purchase.
3. Essence Gel Eyeliner - Black
This is a ridiculously creamy liner that is very pigmented and has good lasting power. The formulation and consistency is perfect and once again it is a liner that I am actually able to use! As you can see from the photo I haven't worn it much, simply due to the fact that I find it so bold in comparison to what I am used to and that being black and waterproof it requires a lot of effort to get off!
Close but not close enough...
For my close but not close enough product I have two eyeliners from Face of Australia, the Eye definer pencils in Charcoal and Marine. I like that these are two different colours however it is apparent that pencil forms just aren't my type of liners. I find them hard to use on the upper lashline, but I really like them for my lower lashline.

Ahh I love that FOA liquid liner! But it stings my eyes sooo bad so I can't use it :'(
ReplyDeleteWow! That's terrible, I really love it and haven't had any problems like that - I hope it stays that way!

I really like the Essence gel eyeliner too! But like you, I find it hard to get off so sometimes I'm too lazy to use it. :P
ReplyDeleteI'm such a loser at liquid eyeliner that's not a pen... maybe I'll try the Face of Australia one :) How opaque is it?
I always sucked at using liquid liner (I was so bad it was embarrassing!) but I could use the FOA one with ease. It's a bit easier to get off than the Essence one too.

Great picks. I really want to try that Face of Australia liquid eyeliner (but might try an Asian one first!) I really need to buy a new eyeliner brush for my gel eyeliner; I think that's half of my problem! xx
ReplyDeleteI imagine not having a brush would impact on how often you wear gel eyeliner! Maybe when the FOA liner is on sale you could pick it up.

I don't like using pencil eyeliners on my upper lash either - they seem to drag with can be a bit painful >_>"
ReplyDeleteBut love your choices for the liquid/gel liners! I've never tried the Face of Australia but I'm definitely adding it to the list of things to try! :)
Great choices!
xx
They do drag and I find it such hard work to make them look good! I really think the FOA liner is so worth it and so easy to use. It's also great that it is pretty affordable.
