NOTD - Face of Australia Brights Nail Enamel in Polyester Girl

Just a heads up, this would be more appropriately titled 'In which I misrepresent the most fluorescent polish I have ever stumbled across by displaying a creamy hot pink polish instead.' Yep, apparently this polish was so pain-inducing on the eye that my camera couldn't even capture it accurately. You need to see this just to believe it.

I don't like fluoro colours. Not a fan. In fact, I can't think of much worse than painting my nails in colours that reflect my highlighted chemistry notes, but that is exactly what Polyester Girl is like, so bright it almost hurts.

Because of the shockingly misleading photos I have I almost didn't put this post up, but then I realised how pretty it appeared to be and figured if I let you know that this is not at all what the polish looks like then we will be okay.
So - if you like the polish shade below, do not purchase Polyester Girl. If you are going to a fluoro 80s party and want the most amazingly pigmented pink fluoro polish then purchase Polyester Girl.

As for the other aspects of the polish, it requires 3 coats, takes a longer time to dry than other FOA polishes and I'm not sure how long it lasts on the nails because I didn't wear it long enough.

Have any of you ladies tried this? Am I the only fluoro polish hating person here?

  1. I hate fluro nails too! Although the colour that your camera captured would be ok if you were heading out to a party in summer otherwise, it'd be too over the top for work.

    1. I don't really mind the colour the camera shows, but it certainly wouldn't be good for work!

  2. I was going to comment and say how much I like this colour.. but after I read this post and finding out it's even the right colour I'm shocked! I hate fluro colours, so I would definitely hate this. At least it photographs well haha.

    1. I really quite like the colour it appears to be but my goodness, it is so deceiving! If you're not into fluoro then there is absolutely no way that you would like this!

  5. Not going to lie, the picture of the bottle of nail polish kind of hurt to look at haha. Such a shame, looks like such a creamy summer colour!

    1. Haha, it is a little bright! It is a shame...oh well, I'm sure a polish that is actually similar to that shown in the pictures is out there somewhere...

  6. I actually have this colour in the round bottle version!
I'm not a fan of fluoro polishes but this colour stood out to me as a very loud summer shade which led me to purchase it. Mind you, I've only worn it once because it was too vibrant :)

  8. It is very hard to photograph neon polishes accurately - the camera always dilutes how shockingly bright it really is. I can imagine! I think these colours are super fun for the brighter months :)
